Now, she is 35 years old and 3months pregnant and her doctor advised her to take indefinite leave from work to avoid stress and hopefully keep the pregnancy. She has never heard about progesterone testing before and she is apprehensive about it.

Dr. Len: I would first gather as much information as possible. Traditional medicine sometimes seems to overlook the obvious, which is that when your body is stressed it begins to steal pregnenolone and progesterone, in order to make cortisol. That's the basic bio-chemistry and why they tell you to de-stress if you want to get pregnant, but they haven't realized that it is because they are using up a lot of their progesterone, when it needs to be used for making a baby...which is what the word means. "Pro" which means for the.... and gestation means making a baby.
Comment on How Healthy Is Your Gut?

Hello,I love reading through your blog, I wanted to leave a little comment to support you and wish you a good continuation. My mother struggle with hot flashes and
night sweats but she is afraid of taking hormone replacement therapy supplements but now that there are
progesterone topical creams, this may help her with the problem.

Dr. Len: I would only recommend the progesterone creams to women who are trying to get or stay pregnant. Otherwise the topical progesterone accumulates in your body and causes and elevation of progesterone, which is just as bad as too little progesterone.
Comment on Spiritual Outlook affect Overall Health

They just don't have time to spend on it. Simply put, they don't carve out enough or any time in their day to develop those spiritual muscles.

Comment on Walking or Running in the Street

What is your opinion for walking on hard stone like the road, is this safe enough for hips and knees? He had used OTC sleep aids for a very long time. He collapsed and died suddenly in bathroom at home. Autopsy Results: Upper GI bleeding due to acute hemmoragic erosive gastritis. He had been having episodes of vomiting, some abdominal pain, etc. In January he was in emergency room very very ill and having severe abdominal pain and projectile vomiting. Please if you are using any of these OTC STOP please, see a gastrointerologist and demand a endoscope exam. My son leaves a wife, 4 children, and a broken hearted Mother behind.
