Healthy Meal Balance for Adrenal Exhaustion

Adrenal Fatigue is fast becoming one of the most common underlying problems.  Traditional medicine is slowing recognizing its magnitude, but it is often overlooked.  Most doctors who practice natural, holistic medicine understands the impact stress and adrenal fatigue has on ones health and address it.

One reason it is not commonly recognized by mainstream medicine may be because there is not a medication to prescribe if someone’s adrenal glands are out of balance.  They assume the adrenal glands are perfectly fine or they are broke.  They don’t recognize that they can be a little sluggish (hypo-adrenal) or a little overactive (hyper), the same way the thyroid is diagnosed.  Another reason it can be overlooked is because to help support your adrenal glands – one of the best thing you can do is adjust your diet.

To overcome adrenal fatigue and exhaustion – you have to pay attention to diet.  A hard and fast rule for repairing your adrenal glands is that you Absolutely, Positively…have to keep your blood sugar stable.  If your blood sugar is going up and down all day long because you skipped a meal or ate too many carbs or even worse, too many refined carbs, your adrenal glands will have to work overtime to help keep your blood sugar stable.

Repairing your adrenal glands is a two part project.  You have to quit making your adrenal glands work so hard (reduce stress), while at the same time nourish those depleted adrenal glands.  Swallowing more pills (vitamins and herbs) without cutting back on all the cortisol and adrenaline your adrenals are having to produce, because you are always in the ‘fight or flight’ mode will make it that much harder to repair.

DIET is Important…

Your dietary choices should be what keep your blood sugar stable…not your adrenal glands.  Yes, they help increase your blood sugar when it falls, but the more your adrenals are called on to produce cortisol and adrenaline – the more depleted they become.  It doesn’t matter if it is mental, physical or dietary stress (skipping meals, eating too many carbs, indigestion, heartburn, reflux, etc…) the more you call on your adrenal glands the quicker they become exhausted. This is why diet is so critical in repairing and restoring healthy adrenal function.

The ideal diet to support your adrenal glands should include protein and fats, which are know to help keep blood sugar stable.  Veggies are important, especially the fibrous vegetables.  You’ll want to add fruit to your diet, depending on your daily activities, but you want to stay away from a lot of the simple, refined carbs that usually come in processed foods and drinks.

Lunch and dinner should include a protein such as; beef, chicken or fish with some veggies.  I like eggs (omelet or quiche) for breakfast, don’t forget some veggies such as avocados or tomatoes. If you have the time to prepare all your meals, great!  I know a lot of people don’t have time to cook and shop which is why I recommend using the Healthy Meal Balance Program.

The reason Healthy Meal Balance is ideal for anyone struggling with adrenal fatigue is because all their meals are designed to keep your blood sugar stable.  This helps keep you in your ‘fat-burning’ zone 24/7, which will help you lose weight and regain your energy levels – not to mention reduce cravings, mood swings and hormonal imbalances.  I know a lot of people prefer them over the heavily advertised meal (weight loss) delivery programs.  The proof-is-in-the-pudding comes from the fact that their re-order rate is above 70 percent.  I’m told the other delivery weight loss programs are below 15%.
