Grass and Range Fed versus Conventional Fed

Listen to the podcast by clicking on the media link...Grass fed beef and chicken along with the milk and eggs they produce are truly health foods. They contain lots of the good fats, the monounsaturated fats, which are missing in the American diet. They also provide lots of high quality protein, which combined with those good fats help keep our blood sugar stable that keeps us in our fat burning zone. But they also are a great resource for many of the nutrients are body needs…from B-12, iron, zinc and the list goes on.
But what sets them apart from conventionally raised cattle and chickens are the fact that these animals consume what nature intended for them to eat….grass! NOT grains like corn, soy or cotton seed, which is commonly and sometimes exclusively given to animals that are conventionally raised.
When animals are given only grains to eat, which is not what they normally like to eat…it changes both the composition of their meat along with the byproducts (milk, eggs, sausage, etc…) they produce. It changes, for the worse, the ratio of the good "monounsaturated" fats to the saturated fats. Free range animals have a ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 of around "four to one." This is what it is for most "free range" animals.
Conventionally raised animals…those raised on grains…have a ratio of about "twenty to one," meaning every time you eat beef, chicken, eggs or milk from your typical grocery store - the high ratio of saturated fats from that animal are what contribute to our health problems. The imbalance and the lack of the good omega-3 fats are a key reason for heart attacks, strokes, depression, hormonal imbalances, arthritis and diabetes and one of the main reasons a
high potency fish oil should be something we should all be taking .Unfortunately mainstream medicine has classified beef, chicken, milk and eggs as key contributors to our health problems and has classified saturated fats as public enemy number one. When in fact the true culprit is the conventional methods used to raise these animals. There is so much good research confirming the differences between the foods that come from grass fed versus conventionally raised animals.
Why it’s not reported isn’t understood, but I am sure it comes back to money, politics and lobbyist’s.
Let’s add one other thing as to why grass fed animals and the food they provide are so much better….they usually don’t have nearly, if any the amount of antibiotics or hormones that are injected into conventionally raised animals. That’s information alone is almost enough to stay away from conventionally raised foods.
But let’s not forget that animals are allowed to roam outside and feel free as opposed to being confined or locked up. Don’t you think the disposition of the animal has a lot to do with what the produce? How would you like to be locked up in a stockyard or hen house all day? Studies have been done showing how animals that have some freedom and get sunlight produce more milk and eggs than those that don’t.
All in all if you get the chance to eat food that came from a grass fed environment….eat all you want the benefits of those foods are huge. Stay away as much as you can from foods that are conventionally raised such as beef, chicken, eggs and milk.
If you do struggle with heart disease, arthritis, hot flashes, hormonal imbalances, night sweats, PMS, depression or diabetes increase the amount of omega 3 fats in your diet by eating more of the foods we are talking about and supplement your diet with a good fish like our
Sea Energy for 30 days and notice the difference.
